What's in our name?
Our name Tulukani Adventures reflects our ethos and our origin in Zambia. “Tulukani” is derived from the ChiNyanja verb “tuluka” which means “to go out” or emerge.
Providing transformative experiences is at the heart of what motivates us.
Just as the sun emerges from behind a cloud to transform the sky, it is our hope that everyone who experiences a Tulukani Adventure emerges outside of their comfort-zone to enjoy a life changing experience.
We are guided by principles that ensure that all of our adventures are safe, ethical, and authentically Zambian, delivered professionally and reliably using the best equipment and practices.

Meet the Team
The Tulukani Adventures team have an extensive collective experience in outdoor education and a proud history among them that sets the foundation for quality education programmes and world-class safety and standards.
Born and raised in Kabwadu, Paul brings a great deal of local knowledge to the team. He graduated from Chitende High School in Chiawa with a desire to enter the education profession and began to serve as a youth mentor in his community.
Since joining Wildtracks Lodge in 2013, Paul has excelled in working with the young people who receive the environmental education programme that is offered at the lodge. His patience, support and care of children attempting the famous baobab tree climb has earned him a great reputation among teachers and guests from Lusaka.
Paul graduated as a Duke of Edinburgh Award leader on an island in the Zambezi river in March 2018 and has led many award participants in their quest to achieve their award.
When asked what he thinks of his current role Paul would say “I always enjoy and look forward to seeing the youth advancing”.
Gibres was born in Chilimanga village and has lived in the Lower Zambezi valley all his life fishing, farming and supporting the beautiful natural environment he calls home.
Since joining Wildtracks Lodge in 2004, Gib has managed many roles within the company, culminating in his current progression to Coxswain and Fishing guide since 2013. He has landed many tigerfish and fish of other Zambezi species while upholding the practices and philosophy of the Lower Zambezi Catch-and-release Initiative.
Gibres qualified as a Duke of Edinburgh Award leader in 2017 at Ndubaluba Outdoor Centre and has led many award participants in their quest to become #worldready through the Award since then.
With appreciation of our environment and respect for natural resources always at her core, Paula comes from the corporate world of creative arts education and advertising in South Africa. In 2013 she made the change to environmental education in Zambia when she took on the role of General Manager of Wildtracks Lodge. Her business and project management skills have seen the lodge and the environmental education offering grow from strength to strength resulting in the separation of the two businesses and the formation of Tulukani Adventures. Whether it is logistical support to expeditions, consultations to teachers and academic staff or the facilitation of a school camp, Paula’s attention to detail, customer service and planning ensures that things run smoothly.
Sven has always had a strong connection with the outdoors and went on his first camping trip before his first birthday. His family were deeply involved for many years with the Boy Scout movement in South Africa and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Zambia. After leaving school Sven pursued a career in Science, and attained a PhD in Entomology from Stellenbosch University in 2010. He then returned to Zambia, taking over management of Wildtracks Lodge on the Lower Zambezi in 2012 with Paula and together they have established a strong reputation in outdoor education in Zambia.
Sven still maintains an interest in conservation science, advising on sustainable use of the Lower Zambezi fishery, publishing the occasional research paper and promoting sustainable angling through the Lower Zambezi Catch and Release Initiative.
His broad range of interests, background in field biology and mix of technical skills mean ensure that Tulukani Adventures products are properly researched, well designed and professionally presented to ensure that our clients get the most out of their experience.
